Senior Associate
Tom brings extensive litigation, prosecution, and civil law experience to his practice, with a strong background in complex personal injury, commercial, and multi-jurisdictional matters. Raised in Enterprise, Alabama, Tom began his legal career in Coffee County before serving nearly seven years as an Assistant District Attorney for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office, covering Coffee and Pike Counties.
In 2010, Tom was elected District Attorney and was sworn into office on January 17, 2011. He served two full terms and was elected to a third before seeking appointment as Supernumerary District Attorney in January 2023, allowing him to pursue civil law while remaining available to prosecute cases when called upon by the Governor, Attorney General, or Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
Throughout his career, Tom has prosecuted thousands of felony cases and tried more than 90 cases to jury verdict, losing only five. He is known for strategic legal thinking, persuasive communication, strong leadership, and a proven record of achieving favorable outcomes for his clients while maintaining the highest standards of professional integrity.
